Artistic Journey
Sia's relationship with art began through painting.
In childhood, her grandmother introduced her to painting as a path for focus and restless energy. What began then became a sustained practice of observation and making.
She was drawn to the richness of colour, visual language and the ability to transform feelings into images. Painting became her first way of observing and understanding the world.
That early practice shaped her sensitivity to emotion, atmosphere and narrative — the ground of a jewellery practice that gives invisible experience physical form.

Creative Philosophy

Sia's practice begins with observation.
She reads people, society and ordinary life for detail and viewpoint usually passed over.
Each overlooked viewpoint can shift how the world is understood.
Her curiosity lies not only in what is visible, but in questioning:
What exists beneath what we see?
IICritical Thinking
Sia.L works from the premise that meaning is rarely singular.
Human behaviour, social phenomena and design itself can all be reconsidered from different perspectives.
Critical thinking is used to unsettle habitual ways of seeing and to surface other meanings in ordinary experience.
She is interested in:
- emotions that people conceal,
- identities and roles that people perform,
- overlooked perspectives within society,
- and the possibilities that exist beyond established perceptions.
For Sia.L, design is not the making of an object alone, but the clarity of why that object must exist.

Sia views jewellery as a form of provocation — a medium that encourages questioning and reflection.
The work refuses a single answer, leaving room for concurrent readings.
Through the relationship between material, structure and the body, jewellery becomes a way to challenge assumptions and explore the connection between individuals and the world around them.

Coming from China and working within an international creative environment, Sia's practice is shaped by personal experiences, cultural memories and continuous observation of the world around her.
Rather than fixed cultural motifs, the practice favours shared human conditions that travel across borders.
The practice is driven by close observation and a search for less familiar points of view.
Through jewellery, Sia.L makes hidden narratives legible — and leaves room for the wearer to rethink self, other and context.
